Journal - August 14th - A Great Day and a Trip

Today is a bit different as I'm typing this in Boise (Meridian to be exact). I have an appointment in the morning with a doctor I intend to keep despite our living in Kimberly.

I left home this afternoon after doing everything I could for my employer. Susan was busy with a couple of young men from the neighborhood arranging the garage and clearing out her office of boxes so that she could set it up. When I left it was starting to take shape - shelves on the wall, tables laid out, office chair in place, etc... The hallways were cluttered with what used to be in her office. I've been assured my scooter will have room to operate by the time I get home tomorrow.

Yesterday was a great day, starting with a great morning and continuing into the afternoon and evening. I've taken to taking baths at night with epsom salts - magnesium in the salts relaxes one just before bedtime, and it reduces pain. We're blessed to have a large tub with 2 jets that have a whirlpool effect. One jet is to the left of your back and the other adjacent to your right foot. Naturally one puts their foot on the jet to get a massage and it works! With a little bit of effort, you can get your left foot over there for the same treatment.

Lastly, Kevin drove while we took care of a few errands. Getting out of the car, I saw the north side of our home in a way I'd never noticed before. If my memory is correct we have 6 mature fruit trees. Our guess is its 2 cherry trees, 2 apple trees, 1 pear tree and 1 nectarine tree. There is some debate over that last tree - we'll figure out what it is next year probably. Because the home was not inhabited during the spring and summer of this year, the trees were not thinned. The result is lots of small apples, lots of small pears, and lots of small nectarines. We're not sure any of them will able to be harvested. But imagine that! 6 mature fruit trees! That's awesome.
